According to the website screenrant.com, the new TMNT installment aims to bring the Turtles to life using a mixture of real people - such as Megan's April - and digital character, a similar method to that used by Avatar and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
It adds that, unusually for motion capture filming, the movie takes place outdoors in addition to a closed set, which is a technique that was revolutionised on Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
